Method and Legal Basis for Collecting Your Personal Data

Your personal data is collected electronically and/or physically through various means, including the company’s headquarters, printed and online forms, fax, mail, email, telephone, open internet sources, corporate social media accounts, the company’s website, and security cameras.

Additionally, your personal data is collected based on the legal grounds stipulated in Articles 5 and 6 of the Law, including explicit provisions in laws, fulfilling legal obligations, establishing and performing contracts, establishing, using, or protecting a right, or legitimate interests, as well as based on explicit consent when applicable.

Purposes of Processing Your Personal Data

The personal data collected will be processed in accordance with the purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698. This processing is necessary for fulfilling our obligations as a data controller, enhancing our commercial activities, and providing better services to you.

The data will be used for communicating with you, executing contracts related to the products and services offered, and informing you about products through email and online advertising. It will also be used for providing you with special campaigns and promotional activities related to our products and services, analyzing data for statistical and planning purposes within the scope of our activities, and managing customer satisfaction and complaints. Additionally, it will help us fulfill requests received through our sales offices, website, and other channels, conduct customer satisfaction surveys, resolve issues related to products and services, and develop products and services.

The data will also be processed for obtaining technology and infrastructure services, complying with legal obligations including organizing mandatory information and documents, storing and sharing information requested by public institutions, meeting notification obligations and other legal requirements, and ensuring the security of our systems and applications by taking all necessary technical and administrative measures. Furthermore, it will be used for sharing essential information and documents with our business partners for the presentation and development of our products and services, managing events, planning and executing business activities, corporate communication, and sustainability efforts, as well as managing salaries and planning human resources processes. It will also be used for monitoring legal processes, fulfilling proof obligations in future legal disputes, and other similar purposes.

Additionally, your personal data may be processed in accordance with the secondary regulations of laws such as the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098, the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102, the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, the Regulation of Electronic Commerce Law No. 6563, tax legislation, and other relevant regulations required by authorized public authorities.

Parties to Whom Your Personal Data Is Transferred and the Purposes of Transfer

Your collected personal data may be transferred to our shareholders, legally authorised public institutions, and authorised private individuals in accordance with the personal data processing conditions specified in Articles 8 and 9 of the Law, in order to achieve the purposes outlined.

Your Rights Under Article 11 of the Law

As data subjects, you have the following rights:

-To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
-To request information if your personal data has been processed,
-To know the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is being used in accordance with that purpose,
-To be informed about the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred, both within the country and abroad,
-To request the correction of incomplete or inaccurate personal data,
-To request the deletion or destruction of your personal data under the conditions stipulated by the law, and to request that these actions be notified to the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
-To object to the result of personal data being processed solely through automated systems, if it leads to a negative outcome for you,
-To request compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing of your personal data.

 

All the aforementioned rights are legal rights under Article 11 of the relevant law. We would be pleased to receive any requests or questions regarding this matter at info@umcoinsaat.com. Depending on the nature of your request, it will be processed free of charge within the shortest time possible and no later than thirty days; however, if the process incurs additional costs, a fee may be charged according to the tariff set by the Personal Data Protection Board.
